Dear Students,

The application for short-term accommodation in undergraduate dormitories for students with a household registry in Taipei City and New Taipei City (Fall Semester 2026) will open soon.

1. Eligibility:
   1. Undergraduate students whose household registry is in Taipei City or New Taipei City.
   2. Students whose household registry has been outside Taipei City and New Taipei City for less than two years, or in any of the following remote districts of New Taipei City for less than two years (Sanzhi, Shimen, Jinshan, Wanli, Ruifang, Gongliao, Shuangxi, Pingxi, Pinglin, Wulai, Shiding, and Linkou), must contact the Student Housing Service Division by phone or email to activate their application eligibility.
   3. Due to the renovation of Men’s Dormitory No. 2 during this academic year, the number of available beds has been reduced. Therefore, upper-year male students are not eligible to apply this time.
2. Application Period: From 10:00 AM on August 27 (Thursday) to 5:00 PM on September 1 (Tuesday), 2026. Late applicants must register as the last candidate on the waiting list after the results are announced. (After completing the application, a confirmation email will be sent to your NTU student email account.)

4. Dormitory Location: On-campus freshmen dormitories (Men’s Dormitory No. 1 and Freshman Women’s Dormitory) and upper-year women’s dormitories (Main Campus: Women’s Dormitories No. 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, and 9; Downtown Campus: Women’s Dormitories No. 4 and 6).
5. Priority Allocation: Students who meet any of the following criteria will receive priority in the lottery. Applicants must upload the required documents during the application period:
   1. Students with disabilities: A copy of the disability certificate must be provided.
   2. Students from low-income households: A certificate issued by the city government that includes the applicant’s name must be provided. These students are exempt from accommodation fees but must pay a dormitory deposit.
   3. Students from mid-low-income households: A certificate issued by the city government that includes the applicant’s name must be provided. These students receive a NT$7,000 subsidy for the semester accommodation fee (see Section VIII).
   4. Indigenous students: A household registry document must be provided.
   5. Students whose household registration was in Taipei City or New Taipei City within the past two years but has since been changed: A household registry document must be provided.
   6. Students with long commuting times: Students whose household registry is in Taipei City or New Taipei City, and whose one-way commute takes more than one hour, must upload a screenshot from Google Maps showing the estimated commute time to NTU using public transportation, with an arrival time set at 8:00 AM.
   7. Practicum courses (before 8:00 a.m. or after 10:00 p.m.): proof of course enrollment or official practicum schedule required.
6. Application Results: Results will be announced on September 3, 2026 (Thursday) at 2:00 PM on the application website. Successful applicants will receive an email notification, while unsuccessful applicants will be placed on a waiting list, with placements updated until December 4, 2026.
7. Accommodation Period: Students must confirm their check-in in the application system within three (3) days of receiving the notification. Payment and on-site registration must be completed within seven (7) days of notification. The accommodation period is until June 19, 2027 (Saturday).
8. Fees: Beginning in Spring Semester 2024, the Executive Yuan subsidizes on-campus accommodation fees for students with ROC nationality. General students may receive a subsidy of up to NT$5,000 per semester, while students from low-income and mid-low-income households may receive a subsidy of up to NT$7,000 per semester. Beginning February 1, 2026, students who are children of active-duty military personnel may also receive a subsidy of up to NT$7,000 per semester. Students eligible for this subsidy must submit the relevant supporting documents each semester to Ms. Feng of the Student Housing Service Division (anhua@ntu.edu.tw ). The subsidy amount will be calculated from the week of the move-in notification.
